US President Donald Trump continues to dispute the final results of this week’s election, which were announced today through major US news networks. Trump had previously tweeted comments about how he was the winner, but now he has released a more formal statement saying that “The simple fact is this election is far from over,” according to CNBC.

“Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor,” Trump claimed in his statement.

Trump said that that as soon as Monday, his team will start moving forward with their legal efforts to challenge the election results.

“Beginning Monday, our campaign will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated. So what is Biden hiding? I will not rest until the American people have the honest vote count they deserve and that Democracy demands,” Trump said.

Biden has claimed victory saying in a statement on Saturday that he is “honored and humbled by the trust the American people have placed in me and in Vice President-elect [Kamala] Harris.”

“In the face of unprecedented obstacles, a record number of Americans voted. Proving once again, that democracy beats deep in the heart of America. With the campaign over, it’s time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation,” the statement read.

Rudy Giuliani also confirmed that Trump will refuse to concede during a press conference shortly after Joe Biden was projected to be the winner.

According to Giuliani, the Trump campaign plans to file several federal lawsuits alleging the “uniform deprivation of the right to inspect” ballots. He accused the “Democratic machine in Philadelphia” of tampering with counting, and “(keeping) the votes of dead people secret.”

“Seems to me somebody from the Democratic National Committee sent out a note that said don’t let the Republicans look at those mail-in ballots,” Giuliani claimed. His claims have been disputed by many independent fact-checkers.

After the networks called the election for Biden, Giuliani said, “Networks don’t get to decide elections, courts do,” he said.

Leaders from around the world came forward with congratulations for Biden and Harris after the elections called the race for them.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a tweet to Biden and Harris that, “I’m really looking forward to working together and building on that with you both.”

Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon tweeted, “Congratulations from to President-Elect Joe Biden and to history-making Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris.”

United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who has previously been on good terms with Trump, also made a congratulatory post on Twitter.
