The judge denies bail saying "no conditions of release can reasonably assure the defendant's appearance at future proceedings"
Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, has been denied bail.
The British socialite is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, New York.
In a bail application filed with the US District Court in Manhattan, Maxwell said she and her husband would post a $22.5m (£16.5m) bond towards a $28.5m (£21m) bail package, secured by all their assets, with most of the remaining funds coming from friends and family.
The proposed package included home confinement with electronic monitoring and 24-hour guard to ensure she remained safe and would not escape.
However, judge Alison Nathan, who previously denied the 59-year-old bail in July, said she "again concludes that no conditions of release can reasonably assure the defendant's appearance at future proceedings".
She said federal prosecutors had persuaded her that Maxwell "poses a flight risk".
